I was a little suspicious of the letter supposedly sent from a UV professor to Dr. Laura. I published it anyway because I thought it raised a good argument -- and it did; helpyourself to the comments therein. Good stuff.
Anyway, I sent this letter to Professor Kauffman
Dear Professor Kauffman,, and he was kind enough to respond:I recently received an open letter to Dr. Laura attributed to you. I had a few questions. First, is it true that the letter is from you? Second, did she respond? If so, would you please share her response with me?
I took the trouble to look up the passages you referenced and found them all to be literally true. It was the first time I opened my bible in at least a decade. I'm no biblical scholar, but I do know that the New Testament trumps the old. Are any of those passages, including the homosexual one, over-ruled by the New Testament?
Thank you for your time. If you respond, please let me know if I may share your writing with the readers of my blog.
I did not write the letter to Dr. Laura. Someone made it appear as if I did. People are assuming that what is on the web is trustworthy. It is not. Neither have I heard from Dr. LauraL-looloo-W, that's two internet hoaxes of yours I've published. Consider yourself on double secret probation.
JK
Your article is very appealing to me.
