They have out done themselves again:
During a state visit to China, French Premier Raffarin threw support behind a law allowing China to attack Taiwan and continued to push for a lift of the EU arms embargo.
Taiwan is a nation of 25 million free people. France supports their conquest by the world's largest remaining tyrant because France wants the money from selling weapons and supplies to the communists. Well, I suppose they needed to replace their old customer, Saddam Hussein.
At the outset of a three-day visit to China, French Prime Minister Jean-Pierre Raffarin said he supported Beijing's "anti-secession" law on Taiwan, and vowed to keep pushing for an end to an EU arms embargo that could open the door for Paris to sell weapons to the Asian giant.
Raffarin also signed or finalized major business deals with Beijing valued at around $3.2 billion (2.4 billion euros).
Outstanding.
A few years ago I got to know a few French families who spent their August holiday here in Crystal Beach. Very nice, very decent people. I suppose there are a lot of others just like them back in France. One wonders when they will have had enough of the stench their government is making. I pity them.
One also wonders when we will see hundreds of thousands of them in the streets protesting their government's support of mass-murdering communists. One would be ill advised to hold one's breath. Mon dieu.
It's not a suprise that the French will sell out for a few million.
France is always willing to be 'practical', the Vichy government was eminently practical under the boot of Nazi Germany.
I gues they made good little Nazis than and will continue to do so in the future.

One also wonders WHEN US troops will AGAIN be fighting an opponent armed with French weapons. We should take France to the mat on this one. China needs it's relationship with the US more than it needs French weapons and the US has a closer friendship with Taiwan than France. Nothing would send a clearer message to China than for the US to cut-off France in favor of Taiwan. I hope Bush has the balls to do it.
