Maybe if there's a chance that Canada could return to the Anglosphere via an election while the Canadiennes make interesting and slimy moves in parliment.
Here's how I understand it.
In Canada, the parliment is run by one party and that party controls when and if any issue is voted on. In this case we're talking about a No Confidence vote that could bring down the government and put the Liberals out of power because of the huge & growing scandal known as Adscam. Canadienne rules require parliment to have a certain number of Opposition Days each session. On Opposition Day, the minority party runs the show and can schedule whatever they want, such as votes of No Confidence. However, the majority party can schedule those opposition days for whenever they want. One such day was scheduled for today but was postponed by the Liberals at the last second. Rumor has it the Liberals are going to schedule all 8 remaining Opposition Days for the last 8 days of the session in June, thereby effectively ending parliment early by denying a quorum -- they would presumably not attend those 8 days -- and effectively canceling all Opposition Days. The voters of Canada would, I hope, pummel the Liberals for such naked political maneuvering in the service of corruption.
The Captain is on a roll. He, an American blogger, may well bring down the corrupt government of Canada. Wow.
