One scene from the movie Die Hard has been coming to mind since the terrorist bombings of England. Officer McClain is inside the building radioing the 911 dispatchers who don't believe his reports of a terrorist takeover of Nakagumi tower. But then the terrorists start firing automatic weapons at the twinkie eating cop. McClain (Bruce Willis) shouts out, "Welcome to the party!"
Now read this from The Middle East Times by Youssef M. Ibrahim:
What is more important to remember is this: When the West did unite after World War II to beat communism, the long Cold War began without pity. They took no prisoners. They all stood together, from the United States to Norway, from Britain to Spain, from Belgium to Switzerland. And they did bring down the biggest empire. Communism collapsed.
I fear those naïve Muslims who think that they are beating the West have now achieved their worst crime of all. The West is now going to war against not only Muslims, but also, sadly, Islam as a religion. (emphasis added)
Well, I don't know how 'sad' that is; I'd say it's long overdue. It's time to put on our red cross crusader uniforms and take care of business.
