Bouncing around the blogoshpere and *gasp* watching NBC News last night (not bad, actually), I get the idea I'm supposed to be all worked up about the Alito confirmation hearings that will be starting soon. Sorry to disappoint, but I'm not. Here's what will happen:
The senators will not actually question the man, but will instead meander and pontificate and do that thing they do, whatever it is. One or two might slip up and ask a couple of good questions, which the judge will not really answer. There will be a few quotes that sound meaningful, and I will probably get worked up enough to comment about them. Then the Senators will vote, and most of the democrat senators will vote against him and most of the republicans will vote for him and he'll be confirmed to a lifetime appointment to the supreme court.
Then and only then will we find out what the man is about.
I have a headache.
I agree with you ,your saying is very good!
