I'd really paid no attention to the firing of the US attorneys brouhaha nor Gonzales' resignation. I knew it was bogus, but didn't really think about it or remember why. Then an acquaintance sent me a link to Anthrax's latest column which I read hoping she wouldn't tear Gonzales apart (he seems like a nice enough guy in over his head to me). Coulter concludes her comparison of our last three AG's thusly:
Number of U.S. attorneys fired by Ashcroft: 0
Number of U.S. attorneys fired by Gonzales: 8
Number of U.S. attorneys fired by Reno: 93
There were so many shenanigans during President Clinton's terms that it's easy to forget some of them. Now I remember how he had the justice department purged when he came to town. I wonder if Senator Clinton (D - NY) has a list?
